DJinnDrum VST is a free audio VSTi (virtual studio technology instruments) extension by SimpleRecorder. It is patterned after the Linn LM-1, a drum machine that was produced in 1980. With the extension, you can experiment with different sounds without having to find a real Linn LM-1.
With the DJinnDrum VST add-on, you can adjust the tempo and volume according to your preferences and tinker with the tuning options—which include “BASS,” “SNARE,” “CLAP,” and many more. Likewise, it also lets you adjust any of the sliders to your liking in “MIXER.”
However, this extension does not include the “ride” and “crash” sound effects. The audio is a bit drier as well. Also—unlike the Windows version—downloading the MAC OS X version of the add-on will come bundled with a free VST (virtual studio technology).
While it does not come with “ride” and “crash” sounds, DJinnDrum VST is still a wonderful extension for anyone looking to experiment with various audio and tuning effects. However, there’s a difference between the Mac and Windows version, with the former having a free VST unlike the latter.
