Stupid Zombies is set in a closed environment. To the left of the screen is a man holding a gun – a big one. The aim is to shoot the zombies as they approach. In itself, this isn’t too hard. Where the challenge comes in, however, is in the fact you have only 5 bullets. You rack up points (similarly to Angry Birds’ star system) by killing the zombies with the smallest possible number of bullets.
The Stupid Zombies challenge is made easier – or harder, depending on your point of view – by the fact that the bullets ricochet wildly, making it equally possible to kill all or no zombies with a single shot. There are over 70 levels in the free version of Stupid Zombies, and an impressive 300 in the paid, meaning you’ll be kept busy for quite a while.
Stupid Zombies is pretty addictive, and you could easily loose a few hours while you play. The sound effects are great, but unfortunately the science behind the game – in the way zombies fall, for example, isn’t always accurate. Even so, it’s a really fun game and comes highly recommended.
Stupid Zombies is an excellent alternative to Angry Birds, even if it’s not quite as polished.
